Smartkids Asia Challenge 2014

20 of our Pr 2 pupils took part in the inaugural Smartkids Asia Challenge 2014 where participants were required to solve 30 Mathematics & English questions in 30 minutes. 6 of our children made it to the Final Round.  The finalists with the most number of accurate answers moved on to pit their heuristic and linguistic skills in an interactive and action-packed finale. We are very proud to announce that Drew Michael of Pr 2 Discipline emerged 1st while Caleb Khong of Pr 2 Kindness was placed 3rd.  Congratulations to both children!

Swift Road Relay Championships and Swift Track & Field Championships 2014

Our school Track & Field team took part in the Swift Road Relay Championships and Swift Track & Field Championships on 15th March 2014 and 22nd March 2014 respectively. Results of the two competitions are as follow:

Basketball Zonal Competitions

The zonal basketball championships organized by the East Zone Primary School Sports Council (EZPSSC) concluded on Monday, 10 Mar 2014. It gives me great pride and joy to share the outcomes as follow:

I would like to thank parents, teachers and coaches for their unwavering support to the players during the duration of the EZPSSC Basketball Championships,   without which, it would not have been possible for our children to excel in sports while cope with their school work at the same time.  Finally, we wish our children all the best in the National competitions!Congratulations to all our boys and girls for their achievements!  All four divisions will now proceed to compete with the top four teams in each zone at the National level.

Track and Field Cross Country Race

 The Track & Field team took part in the Swift X-Country Championships 2014 held at Bedok Reservoir Park. Our athletes performed beyond expectations by winning 1 Silver and 7 Top Ten Medals across four divisions. Congratulations to our athletes!

Excellent Service Award 2014 

Launched in 1994, EXSA is a national award that recognizes individuals who have delivered outstanding service.  It seeks to develop service role models within organizations for staff to emulate and create service champions and professionalise customer service. EXSA is coordinated by SPRING Singapore and comprises 7 industries - Attractions, Banking, Hospitality, Land Transport, Public Service, Retail and Restaurant. This year, a total of 1,324 MOE staff have been conferred the 2013 Excellent Service Award (EXSA).

School’s conferment of the Lotus Award for 2013 School Green Awards and Bronze Award for the 3R Awards

I am pleased to inform that the Singapore Environment Council has recognized the school’s stellar environmental efforts which include waste minimisation, resource conservation and greening of the school grounds by conferring upon us the Lotus Award for the School Green Awards and the Bronze Award for the 3R Awards. Both awards would not have been possible if not for the encouraging support we have been receiving from you parents as we work collaboratively to cultivate

a green mindset among our pupils. Thank you!

International Traditional Wushu Competition

 It is with great pleasure to share that our pupils from Wushu CCA have done well at the recently concluded Singapore Traditional Wushu Competition 2013. The results are as follow:

Theatre Experience and Drama Competition 2013 organised by Centre of Excellence (COE) English Language (Primary) 

We would like to congratulate 3 of our Primary 5

pupils, Neeraj Kumbar, Neel Babar and Masagus

Muhammad Irfan for their stellar performance in

the inaugural Theatre Experience and Drama

Competition 2013 held on 27 May 2013.  The

improvisation piece they put up was based on the

play,The Adventures of Alvin Sputnik, which they

had a chance to watch at ACT 3 theatre prior to their

improvisation.They captured the hearts of the judges

with their creativity, imagination and confidence and

clinched the 3rd prize,beating14 other teams.

Track & Field 4x100m Invitational Relay

Our Track & Field Boys team recently participated in

the East Spring Secondary School Sports Day

Invitational Relay on Friday, 12 April 2013 at Bedok

Stadium. It is with great pride that we share that the

'C' and 'D' Divison boys have won the Gold and

Bronze medals respectively. Congratulations to our

athletes!

Results for National Malay Story-Telling

Competition, Juara Tok Selampit 2013

We would like to inform that Insyirah Iman (4E) and

Lina Farhanah (4E) were awarded Gold and Silver respectively in the National Malay Story-Telling

Competition, Juara Tok Selampit 2013, organised by

EDN Media Riang Ria. Insyirah also won the

Promising Talent Award. Congratulations to our pupils!

Swift Championship Track  and Field 2013

Our school Track & Field team took part in the Swift

Track & Field Championships 2013 held on 9 Mar 2013 at Toa Payoh Stadium. Our athletes performed beyond expectations, attaining several personal bests and securing 2 medals in the 'C' Division category. In particular, Norfarah Rosle from Pr 5 Integrity won the Gold medal in the 'C' Division Girls 100m and Silver medal in the 'C' Division Girls 600m races.

East Zone Primary Schools Basketball

Championships 2013

The EZ Basketball Championships have drawn to a
close. I am very pleased to share the following results:

Senior Girls – 1st Runner Up
Senior Boys- Zonal Champions

Congratulations to the school teams! I would like to
make special mention of our Junior Girls who had
displayed commendable mental strength and focus to overcome opponents who had beaten them in the
preliminary round. We would also like to thank Parents
and Guardians of our school team players for your
support and encouragement, without which the
children would not have achieved so much. All 4
teams will now advance to the National Primary
School Basketball Championships which will run from 25 Mar to 30 Apr 2013. We look forward to continued support from Parents and Guardians.

We are pleased to announce that Denzel Tan Jun Yan of 6 Empathy has won the bronze award in the

Traditional Changquan Category(传统单项套路――长

拳) during the National Wushu and Sanda

Championships 2012 (全国武术和散打公开赛) held

during the December Holidays. Well done! 

Happy Toilet Programme 2012

We would like to share that Changkat Primary School has been awarded the GOLD star certification in the Sustaining Toilets As Restrooms (STAR) Awards Programme in recently. The project was undertaken by our Primary 5 teachers, pupils and PIE club members as part of P5 IPW (Inter disciplinary Project Work) in 2012. 

Congratulations!
The STAR award is a star-grading initiative for toilets

which focuses on three main areas - Design,

Cleanliness and Maintenance. In tandem with the

STAR awards programme, the school has

incorporated an education and awareness component for pupils while putting in processes to level up the standards of school cleaners and restrooms design.

Okto-Great Eastern Workout 2012

Changkat Pr took part in the Okto Great Eastern

Workout competition late last year where the winning school was determined through the number of votes gathered from Okto viewers. We are very pleased to share that the school emerged top among the 13 schools that participated, having garnered 5000 votes. For her effort, the school received $5000

which went towards the Physical Education funds.
